Cerebral palsy is caused by damage that occurs to the immature brain as it develops - most often prior to birth. It encompasses a group of disorders that affect movement and muscle tone or posture. Symptoms of cerebral palsy are often first presented during infancy or preschool years. It can produce movement complications associated with abnormal reflexes, floppiness, or rigidity of the limbs and trunk, atypical posture, involuntary movements, unsteady walking, or a mix of several symptoms.
